The purpose was to clarify and enhance the original meaning of the essay. The title of the essay was changed to more accurately reflect essay content: "Practicing Therapy without a License: The Right to Work?" The old version of the essay is repudiated by the author and is no longer available.

In the essay, "Illegal Immigration as a Social Problem, Part I," (I.D. No. 131), in paragraph 21, the phrase the impossibility of deportation was changed to the improbability of massive and forced deportation.

In the essay, "Political Narcissists, Part II" (I.D. No. 127), in the last paragraph, the phrase from a nation of rugged individualism to a nation of radical individualism was changed to from a nation of hardy reliance to a nation of hardcore liberal conformity.

Unknown to me at the time, the term radical individualism had already been used by Robert H. Bork in his book, Slouching Towards Gomorrah, published in 1996. However, the term rugged individualism was first used by Herbert Hoover in a presidential campaign speech delivered on October 22, 1928, and has since become standard usage.

In the essay, "Audacity of Censorship, Part II" (I.D. No. 187), in paragraph 1, the phrase prompting the public to wonder was changed to and that prompted the public to question.

In the essay, "Delusion and Worship," (I.D. No. 143), in section 4, the term interfaith harmony was changed to interfaith appeasement.

The essay, "D.S.M: Color It 52 Years Old," (I.D. No. 037), was corrected for errors which also necessitated modification of the descriptive content. Only the corrected essay is currently posted on the website. The old version is repudiated by the author and is no longer available.

An addendum was added to the essay, "We Do Not All Worship the Same God," (I.D. No. 146).

July 17, 2007

Two essays were improved for clarification of meaning. First, in the essay, "School Principal Walks Out," (I.D. No. 103), in paragraph 2, it was stated that the students protested against immigration reform. This was in reference to protests against the 2006 Sensenbrenner Bill--not against the comprehensive reform proposal which followed in 2007. That particular sentence has been changed in order to eliminate confusion. Second, in the essay, "Illegal Immigration As a Social Problem, Part I," (I.D. No. 131), in paragraph 26, the next-to-the-last sentence has been worded more precisely: changing does not to cannot, and political to ethno-political.

Some essays were improved for careful use of the word trauma. In some instances, this word had been used in a loose journalistic sense. As appropriate, the word trauma now reflects a more precise clinical usage, or has been replaced with some other descriptive word or phrase, or the sentence has been removed entirely. Only the corrected essays are currently posted on the website.
